Goal: Decide how many draw possibilities the flop offers. More draws β βwetterβ board; fewer draws β βdrierβ.
1. Suits β Flush Draws (0-2 pts)
- Rainbow (3 different suits): +0 pts (No flush draw)
- Two-tone (2 same suit): +1 pt (Flush draw possible)
- Monotone (3 same suit): +2 pts (Flush made or very strong draw)
2. Pairs β Effect on Draws (-2 / 0 pts)
- Unpaired: +0 pts (Normal draw potential)
- Paired Board (e.g., K K 5): -1 pt (Reduces straight/flush combos)
- Trips on Board (e.g., 7 7 7): -2 pts (Significantly reduces draws)
Note: Paired boards can mean full houses, but this system scores based on *draw* potential.
3. Connectedness β Straight Draws (0-3 pts)
Based on the largest gap between card ranks (Ace can be low for A-2-3, A-3-4, A-4-5 type hands).
- Max Gap = 1 (e.g., 7-8-9, A-2-3): +3 pts (Fully consecutive)
- Max Gap = 2 (e.g., 7-9-J, A-3-5): +2 pts (One-card gap)
- Max Gap = 3 or 4 (e.g., 7-T-K, 6-J-A): +1 pt (Two or three-card gap)
- Max Gap β₯ 5 (e.g., 2-7-K): +0 pts (Four+ card gap, few straight draws)
4. Total Score & Classification
- 0-1 pts: Dry (Few draws; top pairs strong)
- 2-3 pts: Semi-dry (Some draws exist)
- 4-5 pts: Wet (Many straight/flush draws)
- 6+ pts: Very Wet (Many made hands & strong draws)
